Our Story
Empowering Women, Changing the World
Women’s Hope for Change (WHFC) is a grass root non- governmental organization formed in 2008 and registered under Trustees Incorporation Act 2010. It was formed by a group of women who had passion to fight for women and children’s rights with a special emphasis on a girl child. It is affiliated to Council for Non-Governmental Organization (CONGOMA) Non- Governmental Organization Regulatory Authority (NGO-RA), NGO Gender Coordination Network (NGCN) at National level, and Civil Society Network at District level. It was formed due to community demand for women advocacy on women’s rights in the district. The organization also provides paralegal and other support services to the victimized women and girls.

Our Mission
WHFC exists to ensure that the rights of all women and girls are always protected, promoted and fulfilled through advocacy, awareness raising, economic empowerment and paralegal services.
Helen Nhlane Makukula
Executive Director
Helen Nhlane Makukula is the dedicated and passionate Executive Director of Women's Hope for Change (WHFC). She has been a driving force behind the organization's mission and vision since its inception in 2008 when a group of women, including Helen, came together to form WHFC with the aim of advocating for women's and children's rights, with a special focus on the girl child. Under Helen's leadership, WHFC was officially registered under the Trustees Incorporation Act of 2010, solidifying its commitment to empowering women and girls in Malawi.
Our Causes
Supporting Nutrition Integrated Components
Malnutrition is responsible for causing over half of all child mortalities within the Sub-Saharan Africa nationalities and Malawi is not spared.
Family Planning Awareness
An awareness targeted all people at child bearing age. Included were the adolescents in all strategic places in the project impact areas like in schools .
Child Protection
WHFC implements interventions that empower girls with education and protect them from child marriages so that they are able to confidently fight back
